Description

SVALBARD WINTER KINGDOM EXPEDITION – 2026

Don’t miss out on this 8-day expedition through the breathtaking wilderness of Svalbard, where the icy grip of the Arctic meets the boundless spirit of adventure. We will explore the most dramatic and remote corners of Spitsbergen, focusing first on its awe-inspiring landscapes and then on its most iconic resident—the polar bear.

Our base for this journey is the luxurious MS VIRGO, a vessel designed specifically for photography, featuring a low-angled deck that provides unparalleled shooting angles. Equipped with two Zodiac boats and two aluminum workboats, we have the flexibility to make landings when conditions allow, bringing us up close to the Arctic wildlife and stunning frozen scenery.

As we navigate through this vast polar frontier, we will be surrounded by towering snowcapped peaks, immense glaciers calving into the sea, and a frozen desert stretching to the horizon. It’s an experience reminiscent of the great polar explorers—Shackleton, Amundsen—who once braved these remote waters in search of the unknown.

Key highlights of this expedition:

  • Majestic mountain and fjord landscapes unlike anywhere else
  • Icebergs and ancient glaciers sculpted by time
  • Encounters with the elusive polar bear in its natural habitat
  • Observing walruses hauled out on the ice, massive yet graceful
  • Catching glimpses of Arctic foxes blending seamlessly into the snow

While on board, we’ll hold specialized lectures on both landscape and wildlife photography, helping you capture the Arctic’s raw beauty with expert guidance. With all meals included and top-tier comfort aboard MS VIRGO, this is a high-end photographic adventure into one of the most extraordinary and untouched places on Earth.

FYI: For those of you arriving a day early, the extra night in a hotel is not included – but we can assist you with the booking if preferred.
